BEVERLY HILLS, June 28, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actor Kunle Afolayan was recently certified as a white hat member of the city of Calgary, Canada. He was presented with an Honorary Calgarian certificate and the Chief White hat.
The White Hat Ceremony is a long-standing tradition in Calgary, a symbol of the Western hospitality and good cheer shared with visiting guests. The white Smithbilt hat has been bestowed on numerous celebrities and dignitaries on their visits to the city since the 1950s, when Calgary’s Mayor, Don MacKay, started the tradition.
The award winning filmmaker shared news of his latest achievement on his Instagram page where he wrote:
