January 05, (THEWILL) – Veteran Nollywood actor, Duro Michael is not enjoying the best of health right now. The once lively and healthy looking man is now a shadow of himself. The gifted actor who has been battling diabetes for a couple of years is in dire need of financial help.
The actor cum director has been battling a health challenge since 2020. He spent the better part of last year in and out of the hospital due to ill health. It was gathered that he has spent all his hard earned money to find a permanent solution to his sickness.
The actor lost one of his limbs to diabetes last year and has been relying on charity to survive.
This is not the first time that notable movie practitioners would fall on hard times. Some of them were able to get succour from the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN through the Health Maintenance Organisation plan provided by the guild while some unfortunately lost their lives when the needed help did not surface on time.
While speaking about the plight of Duro Michael, the national president of AGN, Emeka Rollas stated that he does not have detailed information of the said actor.
Explaining further, he added that actors who are registered with the guild and are on the national HMO plan of the guild would be attended to at the national level. While those soliciting for financial assistance but are not registered on the national HMO should contact their state chapter for assistance.
He however added that the guild would take up his case as soon as they have more details about the actor.
