June 24, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s National Under-16 women’s basketball team demonstrated their dominance at the FIBA Africa Zone 3 qualifiers in Ghana, securing an impressive 73-24 victory over the Ghanaian team.

The Nigerian girls displayed their superiority throughout the match, maintaining control from the first quarter to the last at the Eden Heights venue in Accra. Right from the opening whistle, the Nigerians asserted their dominance, leaving no room for doubt about their capabilities. They outclassed their Ghanaian counterparts, taking a commanding 18-2 lead in the first quarter, clearly highlighting the mismatch between the two teams.

Despite the Ghanaian girls’ efforts to fight back in the second quarter, Nigeria extended their lead to 41-9, in what was another largely one-sided affair. The third and fourth quarter ended in favour of Nigeria, culminating in a comprehensive 73-24 victory. With this outstanding performance, the Nigerian girls have taken a significant step closer to securing a place in the U16 World Cup through the African qualifiers.
