BEVERLY HILLS, July 31, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Friday recorded 462 confirmed new cases of the deadly coronavirus to bring the tally nationwide to 43, 151, with 19, 565 recoveries and 879 deaths (1 new).
Data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, showed that the FCT topped the new cases with 93, followed by Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, with 78. See below for a further breakdown.
The NCDC says it has tested 279, 675 samples as at July 30, 2020.
Nigeria, which has an estimated population of around 200 million people has a daily testing capacity of around 3, 000, a far cry from what is needed to effectively tackle the virus and provide a more accurate data on the pandemic in the country.
