SAN FRANCISCO, June 30, (THEWILL) – Letters from the Wilderness, a profound book of 40 letters has recently been released in the state of Georgia, United States of America. This captivating 238-page book written by Enuma Chigbo, a Nigerian woman of Igbo descent, says it all started in an Uber ride in Cumming, Georgia, sometime in February 2017.
“Indeed, I smile as I walk down memory lane, as I remember my encounter with that Uber driver,” Chigbo says. “There I was, a tad bit agitated about banking and financial matters, hoping I concealed my feelings as I rode in Pastor Denburk Gregory’s car. He invited me to his church, The Full Truth Church of God Deliverance Center; and based on our very first conversation, the letter writing began.”
“A wise man from Cameroun once said to me, knowing your history is as good as putting food on the table. I would remember those words as I rode with Pastor Gregory. He is Jamaican and he would learn from our conversation that Nigeria and Jamaica do have common ground which is found in the name Calabar.”
According to Chigbo, there is a school, Calabar Boys High School in Jamaica’s capital, Kingston. It is about 107 years old and said to be one of the best schools in that vicinity. This school was birthed by the Calabar Theological College in Kingston, which was founded sometime in the 18th century. Some of the founders of the college were slaves that came from off the coast of Calabar Nigeria. They gave it the name “Calabar” because the scenic beauty of their new surroundings reminded them of the land from where they came.
“Somehow this story telling got me invited to Pastor Gregory’s church where the letter writing began. One letter led to another, and then another, until a prophecy came through his wife Veronica, that the letters would evolve into a book. That totally astounded me.”
Pastor Larry Zahn, M. Div. Emeritus who wrote the foreword said, “There are a lot of histories of places and events that get lost over time and are never recorded. In my ministry, especially to the elderly, there was much I learned. Military veterans have shared with me what heroes they are – how God blessed our nation with their courage and sacrifice. Enuma also writes about a different history that would be lost if it were not for this book.”
Letters from the Wilderness is published by Christian Faith Publishing US, who described it as “an engrossing book written with a different history that entices the readers to continue reading until its last page.”
Enuma Chigbo is an award-winning and passionate woman who has a burning desire to pass on the right messages, particularly to the younger generation. She worked as a retail manager, journalist, special project coordinator, and an advertising administrator. Letters from the Wilderness is her sixth book and of a very different format from any book she has written.
With this book, Chigbo hopes that the readers will be blessed as she marvels at what started as an Uber ride evolved into forty letters, leading to the building of His church across the nations.
