August 12, (THEWILL) — Nigeria is set to host investors and business leaders from more than 50 countries at the International Investors Summit Nigeria 2026, with organisers targeting over $100 billion in investment opportunities and commitments across key sectors of the economy.

The two-day summit, scheduled for November 10 and 11 at the Abuja Continental Hotel, is expected to bring together investors, government representatives, project owners and businesses from North and South America, Europe, the Middle East and other regions.

President of the Business Summit Group (BSG), Dato’ Dr Haider Uzzaman, disclosed this at a press conference in Abuja, saying the event would focus on connecting international capital with investment-ready Nigerian businesses and projects.

From investment talks to transactions

Uzzaman said the objective was to move beyond conferences and create direct connections capable of producing financing, partnerships, technology transfers, business expansion and job creation.

“We are not bringing investors to Nigeria merely for speeches and ceremonies. We want investors to meet real businesses, real project owners and government representatives with investment-ready opportunities”, he said.

According to him, Nigeria’s large market, natural resources and strategic position within Africa provide significant opportunities for international investors, particularly as businesses seek new markets and partnerships across the continent.

The summit is also expected to provide Nigerian businesses and project owners with access to international markets and potential investors.

Government urged to improve investment climate

Vice President, Africa, BSG, Innocent Owoicho Obande, said the success of the initiative would depend partly on the ability of federal and state governments to create a more predictable business environment.

He urged governments to address obstacles that discourage investors and ensure that projects presented at the summit can move from discussions to actual investment.

“State and federal governments must be genuinely interested in attracting investors and remove anything that will frustrate them from investing”, Obande said.

He added that the role of BSG was to match investors with businesses and project owners seeking capital.

Among those expected at the summit are Liberia’s President Joseph Boakai, President Vit Jedlicka of the Free Republic of Liberland, state governments, investment promotion agencies and project owners.

The organisers said the event would provide a platform for investors to assess opportunities directly and explore partnerships across Nigeria’s major economic sectors.
