SAN FRANCISCO, July 18, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Saturday reported 653 confirmed new cases of the deadly coronavirus to bring the tally to 36, 107 infections, 14, 938 recoveries and 778 deaths (6 new).
Data released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, revealed that Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, posted 115 new cases, Kwara 85, Enugu 80 and the FCT 78. See below for a full breakdown.
THEWILL notes that analysts are of the opinion that the figures released by the NCDC are unrealistic as the agency is only able to test about three thousand samples daily, a drop in the ocean, compared to what is required for a country with at least 200 million people.
