Nigeria Football Federation Discountenances Reports Of COVID-19 Infections In Eagles Camp

SAN FRANCISCO, October 08, (THEWILL) – The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has referred to news reports that published a claim that some Super Eagles players tested positive for COVID-19 as bogus.

In the News Alert, the NFF asked everyone to discountenance these reports ahead of tomorrow’s friendly game against African champions Algeria in Austria. The Federation dismissed the insinuation as “a blatant falsehood.”

“The writer of the story, who was not part of the press conference earlier today, totally misrepresented what Coach Rohr said that since the outbreak of the pandemic, four of our players had tested positive, but were all now fully recovered from the virus and back in action,” the NFF alert read.

THEWILL can however report that according to the Federation, all players currently in camp have been tested for the coronavirus as part of the required preparation for the match tomorrow.

The results from these tests are still being expected.
