BEVERLY HILLS, May 25, (THEWILL) – Nigeria Monday added 229 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 as the total number of cases nationwide crossed the 8, 000 mark to reach 8, 068. Seven new deaths were also reported by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, to bring the total number to 233 with 2311 recoveries.

Lagos, the epicenter of the pandemic in the country, added 90 of the new cases while Katsina added 27. See below for a breakdown of the numbers.

*** Corrigendum: We have updated the caption to correctly state that cases have crossed the 8, 000 mark. We had erroneously said deaths crossed the 8, 000 mark. We apologise for the mix up.
