Niger State Governor, Mua’zu Aliyu Defeated In Senatorial Race

SAN FRANCISCO, March 29, (THEWILL) – Niger State Governor, Mua’zu Babangida Aliyu has suffered an embarrassing defeat in his bid to represent his district in the Nigerian Senate following his loss to Mr. David Umaru, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s election.

Results of the Niger East Senatorial District poll announced by INEC in Minna, revealed that Mua’zu polled a dismal 46,459 votes versus 149,443 votes polled by the Umaru

Muazu lost in all the wards of the five local government areas where he was defeated. There are 9 local governments in the state.
