NGO Offers Free Medical Care, Disburses Relief Materials To Imo Widows

January 05, (THEWILL) – A US-based non-government organisation, Ikon Health Foundation (IHF), has organised a free medical checkup for widows in Amokwe, Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area of Imo State.

The foundation, which is owned by Pharmacist Ikenna Ogwuegbu, also distributed relief materials to the windows and other indigent persons in the area.

Beneficiaries of these humanitarian gestures have expressed appreciation to the Chief Executive Officer of the organisation, Pharmacist Ikenna Ogwuegbu, for touching their lives positively.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Monica Nwachukwu, a native of Amokwe community, said, “I pray to God Almighty to bless this my son, Pharmacist Ikenna Ogwuegbu, for remembering us.”

Another sixty-seven-year-oId widow, Mrs Oluchi Ginikanwa, told THEWILL that the donor had been offering them free medical outreach and food items for a long time and, therefore, prayed to God to bless him.

“Since I lost my husband three years ago, nobody takes care of me. Ikon Health Foundation is a God-sent to us. May Almighty bless him bountifully,” she prayed.

Other beneficiaries are Mrs. Georgina Okonkwo, Roseline Maduakolam, Theresa Asibe, Okonkwo Fidelia, Theresa Maduakolam, Celine Okonkwo, Florence Ohanaka, Susana Nwokiwu, Florence Chikwendu and Stella Amechi

Over twenty indigent widows smiled home with various relief materials offered to them by the foundation.

Before now, the Ikon Health Foundation, with its team of medical professionals, had graciously visited many communities within and outside Nigeria and offered free medical care to the poor in the areas as well as donations of medical equipment to health centres in the rural areas.
