NFF Technical Committee Negotiating New Deal With Super Falcons Coach Waldrum

September 17, (THEWILL) – The Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation has started discussions about a new contract for Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum, despite reports it had offered him a one-year deal.

The NFF recently clarified the matter surrounding Waldrum’s contract when it revealed that its Technical Committee had been told to begin negotiations with the American on a new agreement.

Waldrum, who engaged in a public spat with the NFF over preparations for the 2023 Women’s World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand and who guided Nigeria to the second round of the competition, after the tournament, said he wanted to stay in his role, at least, until the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The NFF’s Media Director, Ademola Olajire, during the week, reaffirmed that the NFF Technical Committee would soon begin contract talks with Waldrum while dismissing the report of a proposed one-year deal for the coach.

After missing the last three Olympic Games, Nigeria’s Super Falcons will play Ethiopia in the second round of the qualifiers for the 2024 Olympic Games between October 23 and 31. Africa will have two countries in the women’s football event at the 2024 Olympic Games, which will take place in Paris, France.
