January 17, (THEWILL) – Newcastle United are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea attacker, Hakim Ziyech, as the January transfer window continues.
Reports monitored by THEWILL claim that Ziyech is among several Chelsea players, who have been told they can leave the club this month. The 29-year-old was looking to leave Chelsea last summer, but a move to Ajax or AC Milan failed to materialize.
After a strong performance at the World Cup with Morocco, Ziyech is keen to taste regular first-team football, but Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, admits he cannot promise him the playing time he desires. This has led to a definitive desire on the part of the player to seek his fortunes elsewhere.
Newcastle and manager Eddie Howe are said to be looking for additional attacking options as the season progresses, along with a midfielder and a right-back. However, due to financial fair play concerns, the club is unlikely to spend big in January. That is why a move for an affordable option in Ziyech becomes reasonably tactical.
Other Chelsea players like Connor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have also been linked to Newcastle, but it is unclear whether either would be available this month.
