August 16, (THEWILL) – Less than four of the thirteen Directors asked to proceed on compulsory retirement at the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, have complied with the directive.
THEWILL checks revealed that instead of compliance, many of them have persisted in their direct and indirect pressure on the Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, to grant them an extension of the effective date for the compulsory retirement stipulated under the new Public Service Rules for Directors, who have spent eight years on the post.
Our sources disclosed that a group of the affected Directors have written an appeal to Dr Ogbuku to allow them remain till the end of August, flouting the new Public Service Rule.
Other sources revealed that one of them, who is asking for a six-month extension, has told his subordinates that he has an agreement with the Managing Director to remain in his post despite the letter that he was served.
