Nigeria CopyRight Commission, NCC has celebrated one of its former Acting Director Generals, Mrs Loretta Chinwe Ezichi after 30 years of meritorious service as a public servant. Madam Ezichi is the mother of former beauty queen cum consultant, Ifeoma Williams. She was given a special award of service at the Commission in Ebute Metta last week. Williams took to Instagram to celebrate her mother for an award well deserved.
According to her, during her mother’s tenure as ADG in NCC, she was a very strict woman who displayed a high level of Integrity. It was often said in her office then that the fear of Lorretta is the beginning of wisdom when it comes to copyright infringement. Williams praised her mother and stated how blessed she is to have her as a mother. Madam Ezichi started work at the NCC in 1998. She took over the running of the NCC as the acting director general until a substantive Director General was appointed. During her tenure, she recorded tremendous successes in the anti-piracy operation.
She busted and sealed up sophisticated piracy syndicates run by foreigners of Asian extraction and coordinated anti-piracy raids in the book industry. She also served as government delegation abroad and was on various committees such as those leading to the establishment of NICO, the Draft Cultural Policy Management of the National Theatre Board and a host of others. She also worked at the National Institute of Cultural Orientation, NICO as the Deputy Director of Projects and Programmes where she made the first draft Calendar of Programmes for Courses in Cultural Orientation at Polytechnics and Universities leading to the award of certificates. The dedicated woman retired from active public service in 2007.
