August 06, (THEWILL) – The National Basketball Association (NBA) Africa has donated $50,000 to support the Rizha Babuyile community development initiative in Johannesburg, South Africa.
On the sidelines of the ongoing 20th Basketball Without Borders Africa in Johannesburg, NBA Africa Chief Executive Officer, Clare Akamanzi, led the NBA family to make the donation, resonating with the “NBA Cares” initiative.
The NBA Cares is a global social responsibility programme of the NBA aimed at addressing social issues around the world.
“NBA cares about developing the youth and communities which is why we are proud of the impactful work that Rizha Babuyile is doing. We would like to announce NBA Africa’s donation of $50,000 toward a mobile clinic to support the work that you do here,” Akamanzi announced.
Rizha Babuyile, established in 2005, thrives in promoting skills development, youth empowerment, funding and community development programmes geared toward poverty alleviation in South Africa.
