My Agenda Will Deepen Investments In Cross River Residents  – Senator Otu

January 30, (THEWILL) – The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, has said his “People’s First” agenda will deepen investments in the people of the state.

Prince Otu disclosed this at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre while formally presenting his development agenda to the press.

He said there is need to change the narrative that the state is purely a civil service state and take advantage of its peculiarities in carving a niche for the populace.

“Cross River State is the people’s paradise and our People’s First mantra will deepen investments in people.

“Greatness awaits us as we unfold our agenda for a better Cross River, where everyone will live in peace and harmony with man and nature, pursuing legitimate businesses moderated by good governance.

“We need to change the narrative that our state is a purely civil service state by repositioning our people to take advantage of our peculiarities in carving a niche for ourselves in a competitive world driven by modern technologies and practices,” he said.

In his thirteen-point agenda, he promised to build on what all previous administrations in the state including military regimes had accomplished.

As part of his People’s First Agenda, he promised to scale up the agro-revolution, see that industries work optimally, expand access to free and qualitative education and also develop existing and new tourist sites.

He also promised to put in place, modern road and street infrastructure, provide two more main drainage channels in Calabar, provide adequate platforms and facilities for sportsmen and also ensure a sustainable, economic and efficient management of mineral resources in the state.

He equally promised in his thirty-four pages People’s First Agenda to preserve the physical environment through conservation, centralised and coordinate book-keeping, and registration of public revenues and expenditures besides completing all projects inherited from past administrations.

He insisted that the governorship of the state is “not child’s play, it is a call to service and I do not take it lightly.

“I shall give my best with utmost integrity, humility and sincerity.

“I call on everyone beyond party lines and ethnicity to join my running mate and I in pursuing this dream of “people’s First,” he said.
