Ejuke Set To Complete Free Transfer To Sevilla

June 17, (THEWILL)- La Liga side Sevilla have reached an agreement to sign Nigerian international forward Chidera Ejuke on a free transfer. The 26-year-old attacker will undergo a medical on Monday before putting pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Andalusian club.
Ejuke attracted Sevilla’s interest after an impressive loan spell with Belgian side Royal Antwerp last season, where he scored five goals and provided six assists across all competitions. His parent club CSKA Moscow decided against renewing his deal, allowing him to join Sevilla as a free agent this summer.
The seven-time UEFA Europa League winners finished a disappointing 14th in La Liga last term and are looking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new campaign. Ejuke, who has 16 caps for Nigeria, will add pace and directness to Sevilla’s forward line.
Prior to CSKA Moscow, Ejuke plied his trade in Norway with Valerenga and the Netherlands with Heerenveen after coming through the ranks in his homeland with Supreme Court and Gombe United. He featured at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, making appearances against Egypt and Guinea-Bissau.
The capture of Ejuke represents a shrewd piece of business for Sevilla, acquiring an experienced international forward of proven quality on a free transfer as they aim to climb back up the La Liga standings next season.
