Movie Producer Kevin Turen Dies At 44

November 14, (THEWILL) – American film and television producer, Kevin Turen, tragically passed away at the untimely age of 44, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, leaving behind his wife, Evelina and two sons, Jack and James.

His father, Edward Turen, verified his unexpected demise, expressing in a statement, “Kevin was so incredibly special. This world is going to be less without him.”

Turen’s close friend, Jay Penske, remembered the producer’s legacy, saying, “Despite his many achievements in Hollywood, Kevin’s greatest passion was his family and friends. He was so proud of his children. He and his wife, Evelina, were resolved that their children grow up with great values and ensured they make a difference in the broader world.

“Our collective heart breaks for them and we all feel such a profound sense of loss. We will miss Kevin so much and this town lost one of its brightest rising stars today.”

However, the cause of his death remains undisclosed at this time.

Hailing from New York City, Turen was born in 1979 and went on to study at Columbia University, where he earned a degree in English and critical film studies.

Embarking on his film industry career, Turen initially joined Capital Entertainment, later evolving into First Look Studios. Starting as a creative executive, he climbed the ranks to become president of production, playing a pivotal role in expanding the company from four employees to over 150.

He contributed to notable films like the ‘X’ film series, ‘Those Who Wish Me Dead’, ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’, ‘Pieces of a Woman’ which garnered Vanessa Kirby an Academy Award nomination for best actress, and ‘Arbitrage’. In the realm of television, he served as an executive producer for ‘Euphoria’, which has been nominated for 25 Emmy Awards, winning nine and ‘The Idol’.
