October 2, (THEWILL) – Despite playing the majority of the second half with 10 men, Lorient defeated Lille 2-1 on Sunday at the Stade du Moustoir to win their fifth straight game with Théo Le Bris scoring a late game-winner.

Lucas Chevalier, the goalkeeper for Lille, accidentally fumbled the ball, allowing Bafodé Diakité to score an own goal, giving Lorient the lead inside the first 10 minutes.

But, just after the hour mark in the second half, they were given a boost when Dango Ouattara, who has been so excellent this season, was shown a second yellow card for a foul on Ounas, reducing Lorient to 10 men.

The visitors soon took advantage of their advantage. David first hit the bar before finding the equaliser with 12 seconds left on the clock. But amazingly, with three minutes remaining, the 10 guys scored the victor, and they did so with flair as substitute Le Bris finished past Chevalier for the win.

It is Lorient’s fifth straight victory, keeping them comfortably in third place and continuing their incredible season. Up next for them is an away tie against Brest on Sunday. On the same day, Lille will host Lens.
