Tayo Oviosu’s mobile payment service, Paga launched in Nigeria in April 2009, about 5 years ago.
It hasn’t been an easy journey because it took Paga 2 years, after launch, to get a CBN operating license. But since then, the platform has grown to working with a network of over 4,470 agents in 25 states, and currently serving over 1350+ businesses nationwide.
And today, Paga has crossed 2 million users! Of the over 2 million registered users, Over 500 thousand are active in a 90 day period,over 11 million transactions processed translating to over 120 billion Naira (US$ 750 million) processed to date!
It’s always great to get such huge success stories; and the future definitely holds great things for Paga.
