With a two-goal advantage, Milan remained firmly on top after the break. Super-sub Okafor then put the icing on the cake, netting a fine team goal to give Stefano Pioli’s side extra breathing room. After recent struggles, the victory will be a massive motivating boost for the hosts.
The match marked an impressive debut for teenage striker Simic. Brought on as a first-half injury replacement, the 18-year-old announced himself by netting in front of the home fans at the iconic San Siro.
