Milan Cruise Past Monza As Teenager Simic Nets Debut Goal

December 17, (THEWILL) – AC Milan claimed a comfortable 3-0 win over Monza on Sunday. Tijjani Reijnders, gave the hosts an early lead before 18-year-old debutant Jan-Carlo Simic netted to round off a first-half dominated by the hosts. Noah Okafor then added gloss to the scoreline late on as Milan claimed a comfortable 3-0 Serie A win over Monza on Sunday.

Dutchman Reijnders opened the scoring inside the first three minutes, surging through the Monza defence before slotting under keeper Michele Di Gregorio. The visitors rallied after falling behind but were let down by some wayward finishing. However, Simic poked home a second on the stroke of halftime after being set up by Rafael Leao.

With a two-goal advantage, Milan remained firmly on top after the break. Super-sub Okafor then put the icing on the cake, netting a fine team goal to give Stefano Pioli’s side extra breathing room. After recent struggles, the victory will be a massive motivating boost for the hosts.

The match marked an impressive debut for teenage striker Simic. Brought on as a first-half injury replacement, the 18-year-old announced himself by netting in front of the home fans at the iconic San Siro.

While the result leaves AC Milan five points shy of second-placed Juventus, it steadied the ship after their UEFA Europa League progression earlier in the week. Pioli will now hope it provides momentum ahead of a clash with Salernitana next weekend.
