Mbappe Decides To Remain With PSG, Turns Down Move To Real Madrid

May 21, (THEWILL) – The French striker, Kylian Mbappe, who has been at the centre of a transfer debacle between La Liga giants Real Madrid and his current team, Paris Saint-Germain, will apparently be staying in Paris.

Reports monitored by THEWILL, hold that Mbappe has decided to extend his contract with Les Parisiens and has alerted Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, of his decision. It comes after a move to the Spanish capital appeared to be on the horizon for Mbappe.

Mbappe’s mother, Fayza Lamari, had said on Friday that PSG and Real presented “almost identical” contract proposals to her son. Mbappe accepted both offers, but, at that time, had not yet decided on his future, she had revealed.

The 23-year-old Frenchman is largely regarded as one of the top players in the world, and he has a resume to prove it.

Mbappe has now won Ligue 1’s best player award three times in a row, and he has also led the league in goals three times. He has also led PSG to four Ligue 1 titles and a second-place finish in the UEFA Champions League in the 2019/2020 season. In each of the past four seasons, he has scored 30 or more goals in all competitions for PSG, including 36 this season.
