Martial’s Agent Confirms Desire To Leave Man Utd

December 06, (THEWILL) – Anthony Martial’s agent has confirmed that the French striker wants to leave Manchester United in January.

The United striker had a fantastic 2019/2020 season, scoring 23 goals in 48 games across all competitions, but struggled last season, scoring just four Premier League goals.

Martial’s poor form has continued into this season, as he has only one goal in ten games. With the summer arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho restricting his opportunities, he has only started two Premier League games.

Philippe Lamboley, executive director of USFA management, has now announced that they will try to obtain a transfer away from Old Trafford during the forthcoming transfer window.

“Anthony wishes to leave the club in January. He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon,” Lamboley said.

Martial did not appear in either of interim manager Ralf Rangnick’s first two games in charge, a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace and a 1-1 Champions League draw with Young Boys.

He is now out with a knee injury and will miss United’s trip to Norwich on Saturday, where they can move up to fifth place if they avoid a loss.

“Anthony trained with us on Saturday in the final session before the Crystal Palace game,” Rangnick said. “Half an hour after training, the doctor and the medical department informed me he has some pain on his knee.

“We had a meeting together with the doctor, the medical department, and Anthony and we agreed he should try to recover from that. It’s not a fresh injury, it’s symptoms he had in the past already.

“We need to make sure he is reducing the amount of pain in the next couple of days.”
