July 18, (THEWILL) – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, the former Arsenal and Barcelona striker, has joined Saudi Pro League side Al Qadisiah from Olympique Marseille. The 35-year-old Gabonese forward signed a two-year contract for a reported fee of €15 million per year.

Aubameyang’s time at Marseille was productive, scoring 29 goals and providing 11 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions. His performance in the Europa League was particularly noteworthy, where he became the competition’s all-time top scorer with 31 goals.

Before his departure, Aubameyang expressed gratitude to Marseille on Instagram, thanking the club, staff, teammates, and supporters for their backing during his time there. He acknowledged the emotional impact of his year at the club and the lasting memories he would take with him.

At Al Qadisiah, Aubameyang will join forces with former Real Madrid defender Nacho. The Saudi club, owned by oil company Aramco, recently earned a promotion to the top flight.

Throughout his career, Aubameyang has enjoyed success at various clubs. He won the La Liga title with Barcelona, the FA Cup with Arsenal, and the German Cup with Borussia Dortmund. In 2015, he was named African Player of the Year, beating Yaya Toure and Andre Ayew to the award.
