BEVERLY HILLS, August 17, (THEWILL) – The remains of the Emir of Misau in Bauchi, Alhaji Muhammadu Manga III, 78, who died Monday after a protracted ailment, has been buried in Misau, Bauchi State.
The Chief Imam of Misau Central Mosque, Alhaji Usman Baba, led the funeral prayers, according to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN.
Prominent personalities in attendance included a delegation from the National Assembly, comprising five Senators, led by Sen. Danjuma Goje.
Also in attendance were the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed and 10 traditional rulers.
Speaking after the prayers, the Governor of Bauchi, Mohammed Abubakar, commiserated with the people of the state.
He said that Bauchi State and the country at large had lost a statesman.
He prayed God to grant the soul of the late Emir eternal rest.
The Emir left behind four wives and 27 children.
