Man Urges Alia To Patronise Local Contractors To Prevent Capital Flights

October 12, (THEWILL) – A Social mobiliser, Mr Cyprian Orlaade, has urged Benue State Governor, Revd Fr Hyacinth Alia, to patronise local contractors to prevent capital flight from the State.

In an exclusive chat with our correspondent in Makurdi, on Friday, Orlaade, who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Production from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, noted that one of the companies Privent Construction Company Nigeria Limited has the capability to deliver on the job.

According to him, the Governor should make it a priority to harness the talents of the Benue people, especially the youths, arguing that no economy of any state will be better improved without industrialization.

“Governor Alia should, therefore, take advantage of both the human and natural resources for the growth of the State”.

The agricultural expert noted that at the moment, Benue State is lacking in storage and processing facilities, not to mention a marketing board that determines the prices of produce and calls on the Government to take action to address the challenges.

He, however, commended the Alia administration for the appointment of Ushongo sons into his administration including Barr Martins Shaage as Commissioner for Land, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange as Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Sir Tersoo Kula as Chief Press Secretary, and Dr Mkor as Special Adviser.

Also worthy of commendation, according to Orlaade, is the appointment of Professor Joseph Alkali as Secretary to the State Government. He called on the Benue people to keep faith with the administration to deliver more dividends of democracy to all.
