Losing Thompson, Green Was Huge Blow For Warriors – Kerr

November 15, (THEWILL) – Golden State Warriors Coach, Steve Kerr, has reacted to the altercation between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves that resulted in multiple ejections in the Timberwolves’ 104-101 win on Wednesday night.

The incident occurred with less than two minutes remaining in the game when Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels got tied up while going for a rebound. Draymond Green then intervened, putting Rudy Gobert in a headlock.

After review, Thompson and McDaniels were each assessed two technical fouls and ejected. Green also received a flagrant 2 foul and was ejected.

Kerr was critical of the decision to eject Thompson. “There is no way Klay should have been thrown out of the game,” Kerr said. “He’s running up the floor and the guy grabs his jersey and is pulling on him, so Klay pulls back… that was ridiculous.”

The altercation proved costly for the Warriors, who were already without Steph Curry due to injury. Despite being down a player as well, the Timberwolves outlasted the Warriors to get the win.

“Losing key players Thompson and Green was a huge blow for the Warriors, who struggled to keep pace with Minnesota down the stretch,” said Kerr. The win moves the Timberwolves to 2-0 in their West Group, while the Warriors have a win and a loss at this early stage.
