Lookman Inspires Atalanta To Serie A Win Over Torino

May 26, (THEWILL)- Ademola Lookman continued his stellar form as Atalanta finished with a top-four place in Serie A after a dominant 3-0 victory over Torino. Following their midweek UEFA Europa League triumph against Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta showed no signs of fatigue, with Lookman adding to his impressive goal tally.

Torino began the match brightly, aiming for their third consecutive league win. Ivan Ilic had an early chance but shot wide, while former Atalanta player Duvan Zapata missed a close-range header. Atalanta slowly found their rhythm, with Charles De Ketelaere narrowly missing the target before Gianluca Scamacca opened the scoring with a superb strike.

Lookman, who had missed an earlier opportunity, capitalised on a rebound from Mario Pasalic’s effort to double Atalanta’s lead before half-time. Torino started the second half with renewed vigour, but Pietro Pellegri and Raoul Bellanova failed to convert their chances. Atalanta continued to press, with De Ketelaere and Davide Zappacosta testing Torino’s goalkeeper, Luca Gemello.

The match was effectively sealed when Lookman’s quick footwork earned a penalty, which Pasalic calmly converted. This win not only confirmed Atalanta’s place in next season’s UEFA Champions League but also left Torino’s European ambitions in jeopardy.

Lookman’s overall performance was another significant contribution to Atalanta’s success once more. With this result, AS Roma can no longer qualify for the UEFA Champions League, and Torino’s hopes now rest on the outcome of Fiorentina’s UEFA Europa Conference League final.
