December 21, (THEWILL) – Liverpool booked their place in a record 19th League Cup semi-final on Wednesday, with an emphatic 5-1 victory over West Ham United at Anfield. Curtis Jones netted twice on the night, while strikes from Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah rounded out the scoring for the rampant Reds.
After firing blanks in Sunday’s frustrating 0-0 draw at home to Manchester United, Liverpool rediscovered their attacking verve to brush aside a hapless Hammers outfit. It marked another fruitless trip to Anfield for beleaguered West Ham boss David Moyes, who has now failed to record a win there in 21 attempts.
