Liverpool Thrash Norwich In Goal Filled FA Cup Clash

January 29, (THEWILL) – Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side put on an attacking masterclass as they dismantled Norwich City 5-2, in an action-packed FA Cup fourth-round tie at Anfield, on Sunday. Despite the recent shocking news that Klopp will leave the Reds at the end of the season, Liverpool showed no signs of distraction, dominating from the off against their Championship opponents.

After Curtis Jones headed home the opener, Norwich temporarily silenced Anfield by equalising from a corner through Ben Gibson’s flick. However, Darwin Nunez soon restored Liverpool’s lead with a composed finish.

Defensive errors continued to haunt the Canaries as Diogo Jota and Virgil van Dijk extended the Reds’ advantage after the break. A thunderous Borja Sainz strike gave Norwich faint hope, but Ryan Gravenberch had the final say, nodding in late on.

It was a ruthlessly efficient performance from Liverpool, who booked their place in the FA Cup fifth round for the second straight season. Meanwhile, Norwich’s struggles against top-flight opposition continue, they have now lost 13 consecutive games against sides from the English Premier League while not a member themselves.

For Klopp’s Reds, the focus remains on potential silverware in his final few months at the helm. They march on in the FA Cup with momentum behind them and will await Monday night’s draw with anticipation.
