BEVERLY HILLS, July 16, (THEWILL) – England champions, Liverpool, has extended an invitation to Wycombe Wanderers’ striker, who is of Nigerian descent, Adebayo Akinfenwa to the club’s victory parade.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, extended the invitation to the Nigerian just a few days after congratulating him for leading his club to a promotion to the Championship.
THEWILL recalls that Adebayo had in a post-match conference hoped that the German coach would give him a shout-out on social media for his side’s promotion. The German has since responded with a video message, adding that the Nigerian would be a part of the victory parade of the Kops when it happens.
“He is invited for the parade, 100 per cent. I saw he was sitting in the team meeting in a Liverpool kit, which I thought was really funny,” Klopp said. “It was nice, he was obviously really happy.”
