January 26, (THEWILL) – Portland Trail Blazers star guard, Damian Lillard, had a historic night on Wednesday, as he put up 60 points in the team’s 134-124 victory over the Utah Jazz.
This was a remarkable performance from Lillard, who has been on a scoring tear over the last 10 games. He has now scored a total of 380 points over that span, which marks his most points over a 10-game period since he scored 415 points from January 20 through February 9, 2020.
In addition to his scoring outburst, Lillard also made history with his eighth 3-pointer of the night. With that shot, he passed Vince Carter (2,290) for sixth on the NBA’s all-time 3-point list. This is a significant accomplishment, as Carter is a former NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist. Lillard had already passed Jason Terry (2,282) for seventh place on the list on Monday.
Lillard’s 60-point performance is just the latest in a series of incredible performances from the Blazers guard. He has been a vital piece for the Blazers since joining the team in 2012 and has established himself as one of the best players in the league.
He is also a six-time NBA All-Star and has led the Blazers to the playoffs in eight of the nine seasons he has played for the team.
