Lewandowski Keeps Scoring As Barca Rout Valladolid 4-Nil

August 29, (THEWILL) – Barcelona easily defeated Real Valladolid 4-0, as Robert Lewandowski scored twice for the second game in a row.

Although Jules Kounde made his long-awaited club debut in the match, since joining from Sevilla after having his registration delayed, it was Barcelona’s high-profile signing from Bayern Munich that stole the show.

Lewandowski scored a goal in each half of the match on Sunday at Camp Nou. His first goal was a poacher’s finish at the far post, and his second was a skillful backheel. Pedri and Sergi Roberto both scored for Xavi’s team, who have seven out of a possible nine points and are still unbeaten in La Liga.

Barcelona’s credentials as a title contender will be put to the test when they visit Sevilla the following weekend, just before they open their Champions League campaign at home against the Czech champions Viktoria Plzen.

Valladolid hosts Almeria the next time out, relieved that their challenging start to the fixture list is finally over.
