Lalong Out To Destroy Langtang People – Hon Ubandoma

August 23, (THEWILL) – The Executive Chairman of Langtang North local government council, Hon Joshua Laven Ubandoma, has observed that the political desperation demonstrated by Governor Simon Lalong in Langtang North local government area, is capable of destroying Taroh natives of the area.

Addressing the press on the plight of workers of Langtang North local government council, who have been without salaries since June, Ubandoma called on the people to hold Governor Simon Lalong responsible for their suffering, saying what is going on in Langtang North is unnecessary and avoidable.

Ubandoma expressed surprise that in spite of his training and background as a lawyer, Governor Simon Lalong has been politically British and refused to respect court orders and several judgements to the effect that he cannot impose Nanven Zulfa of the APC on the Council as its Chairman because that position was not vacant at the time last local government elections in the State were conducted.

Ubandoma, who noted that his tenure as Executive Chairman of Langtang North will expire on October 9, 2022 and that he speaks on behalf of the Taroh people of Langtang, quoted Lalong as declaring a personal war against him, hence his determination to truncate his mandate by haunting him out of office.

He said it is because of the several court orders ousting APC’s Zulfa that the Court has frozen the Council’s bank accounts, implying the Court does not recognise Lalong’s imposed leadership in the Council, and this is making the innocent workers suffer unduly.

Describing Lalong as an embarrassment to the law profession, Ubandoma said he cannot succumb to Lalong’s pressure that he decamps and join the APC because the Party lacks good leadership, and the Taroh people of Langtang have rejected the APC as a platform and vehicle to drive their politico-economic and social aspirations.

At the risk of threats to his life and that of Him Beni Lar, for standing for truth and justice, Ubandoma said following the order of the Court on staff salaries, he has since consented and directed that the staff be paid immediately to alleviate their suffering.
