Lagos Finance Commissioner Resigns To Take Up First Bank Job

SAN FRANCISCO, July 30, (THEWILL) – The Lagos State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Tokunbo Abiru, Monday announced his resignation from office to take up an appointment as the Executive Director of First Bank of Nigeria Plc. and a Board member of FBN Holdings Plc.

His resignation was announced by the Lagos state government on Monday, July 29, 2013 and would take effect from August 1, 2013.

Abiru, who is a professional banker and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, had served as Group Head, Corporate Banking and Business Development Manager with the First Bank for over two decades before joining the public service in Lagos State as Commissioner for Finance.
