January 10, (THEWILL) – In a controversial interview, footballer Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, made disparaging predictions about fellow player Victor Osimhen’s future. Speaking on Georgian broadcaster 1TV this week, Jugeli claimed Osimhen will move to Saudi Arabia next summer despite recently signing a new Napoli contract.
Jugeli contrasted this to his own client Kvaratskhelia, who he described as “different” with ambitions to join elite clubs like Real Madrid or Manchester City. His inflammatory comments provoked an angry Instagram response from Osimhen, who called Jugeli “a piece of filth and a disgrace” while demanding he stop mentioning his name.
The two Napoli teammates were instrumental in securing the club’s first Serie A title in 33 years last season. Osimhen was the league’s top scorer, while Georgian winger Kvaratskhelia scooped player of the year honours.
With 8 goals in 18 games across all competitions, the 25-year-old Osimhen continues to be linked to English Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea. However, he is thought to have rejected big-money offers from Saudi Arabia over the summer.
Jugeli’s attempt to contrast his own client’s ambitions with Osimhen’s future has clearly backfired. The Nigerian striker’s harsh words underline his commitment to success at Napoli despite interest from overseas suitors.
