October 07, (THEWILL) – Bet9ja founder, Kunle Soname, has added another feather to his numerous caps.
His airline, Value Jet has gotten an Air Operator Certificate, AOC, from NCAA, to resume commercial flight operations in Nigeria.
The billionaire businessman has been over the moon since he received the good news from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA.
AOC is a certificate authorising an operator to carry out specified commercial air transport operations. It is also described as an Air Operator Permit, which is the approval granted by a national aviation authority to an aircraft operator to allow it to use its aircraft for commercial purposes.
The politician cum entrepreneur will resume commercial flight operations to some states of the federation. However, its flight operations are limited to four local routes namely, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Asaba and Jos daily.
This development is coming at a time when airlines in Nigeria are stopping operations due to the challenges the aviation industry is battling with.
Aside from his interest in aviation, Soname was once the chairman of the Ikoshi-Isheri Local Development Council before pitching his tent fully in the business world. He is the first Nigerian to acquire a European club, C.D Feirense in 2015. He is also the founder of Remo Stars Football Club which was previously known as FC Dender.
