Keyamo Signs Performance Bond With New Aviation CEOs, Directors, Warns Against Under-Performance, Corruption

January 11, (THEWILL) – The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has signed a performance bond with the newly appointed Chief Executive Officers (CEO’s) and Directors of agencies of the Ministry.

Addressing the newly appointed aviation heads, during official induction training in Abuja on Thursday, Keyamo, who charged the new CEO’s and Directors on accountability and service delivery, warned them to resign if their goal in office is to make money and not serve the Nigerian people.

“you should be a fresh breath of air in the aviation sector. You need to perform to produce utmost results. I signed performance bond with Mr President and I am doing same with you. You go back and do same with your directors.

“This is not some jamboree, I came into public office with reputation, I am very critical, I will not tolerance non-performance. If your aim is to make money, give me your resignature letter before you leave here.

“If you get to office and begin to do some dirty deals, I will be the one to hand you over financial agencies. I will not allow anyone to humiliate me”, he warned.

He explained that the event is aimed at bringing together the strategic management staff of the ministry and the new chief executives to get to know each other and work towards the mandate, vision and mission of the ministry.

“The reshuffling, announced on December 13th reflects the President commitment to enhancing the well-being of the passengers and all stakeholders in the Aviation industry in Nigeria.

”The President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration plans to focus on optimising and boosting revenue generation for Nigeria’s Aviation industry and also ensure strict compliance with international regulations and standards.

“To actualise the five-point agenda for the growth of the Nigerian Aviation value chain, the Aviation Ministry is looking forward to a new phase of partnership and collaboration, by leveraging on the immense opportunities in the sector to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and joint-venture partnerships with heads of international economic organisations, presidents of transnational corporations and principals of leading privately-owned enterprises.

“Welcome to a journey of leadership and innovation. As you embark on this role, remember that success is a collective effort. Foster collaboration, embrace change, and lead with vision. Your commitment to excellence will shape the future of our ministry. Best of luck on this exciting endeavour.

“I look forward to witnessing your impactful contributions”, he added.

Others, who spoke at the event include Hadiza Bala Usman, Special Adviser to the President on Policy Coordination; and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Emmanuel Meribole.
