Kane’s Potential Move To Bayern Nears Completion

August 01, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur are nearing a potential record-breaking deal for Harry Kane, with both clubs confident that an agreement will be reached soon.

The England captain has been linked with the German champions throughout the summer transfer window. Bayern are ready to increase their offer from the previous €95 million, already a club-record sum for the Bundesliga side. All sides involved are now optimistic that the move will go ahead. Kane will be offered a five-year deal in Munich that would keep him at the club until he is almost 35, marking the end of a career-long stint in north London for the striker.

Tottenham are reportedly willing to sell their star man with one year remaining on his current contract, to avoid the risk of losing him for nothing next summer. The English Premier League side is seeking £100m for the transfer and will reportedly demand a buy-back clause if he returns to the English top flight.

Kane, who joined Tottenham’s youth system in 2004, had successful loan spells with various clubs before his breakthrough season in 2014/2015, earning him the PFA Young Player of the Year award. Throughout his tenure at Spurs, he has been the all-time top scorer for both the club, with 280 goals, and England, with 58 goals.

Although they reached the final of the League Cup twice and the UEFA Champions League once, Kane is set to leave Spurs without winning a trophy. He won the World Cup Golden Boot in 2018 as England reached the semi-finals and also captained the Three Lions to the Euro 2020 final.

With a lucrative five-year contract offer on the table, the English striker could be set to continue his prolific goal-scoring exploits in Munich for the foreseeable future.
