December 21, (THEWILL) – Bayern Munich ended 2023 on a high note, defeating Wolfsburg 2-1 away from home, thanks to a long-range stunner by Harry Kane. The English striker fired home a thunderous 25-yard effort in the 43rd minute to give Bayern a 2-0 lead after Jamal Musiala had opened the scoring earlier.
Despite Bayern missing key players, Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka, they dominated the early proceedings and had several chances to take the lead before Musiala capitalised on Thomas Muller’s superb cross in the 33rd minute.
Muller turned provider again 10 minutes later, setting up Kane to curl an unstoppable shot into the top corner. Wolfsburg managed to pull one back right before halftime through captain Maximilian Arnold’s fine strike, but ultimately could not prevent Bayern from claiming all three points.
Bayern manager Thomas Tuchel could only name six substitutes and introduced Matthijs de Ligt in the second half as the visitors professionally saw out the win.
