August 11, (THEWILL) – England captain, Harry Kane, is reportedly set to join German champions Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to British media outlets monitored by THEWILL on Friday, Bayern had a €100 million bid accepted by Tottenham and Kane is scheduled for a medical examination in Germany. The 30-year-old striker has one year remaining on his contract with Tottenham, where he has spent his entire professional career and became the club’s all-time leading goal scorer.
Kane’s potential transfer to Bayern would end his search for the first major trophy of his career. Bayern have dominated German football, winning the last 11 Bundesliga titles. Adding a world-class striker like Kane to their star-studded squad would make them heavy favourites to continue their domestic success. Kane’s goal-scoring capacity could also help propel them to another UEFA Champions League title.
Kane’s departure would be a big blow for Tottenham and new manager, Ange Postecoglou, as they look to break into the top four in the English Premier League this season. They kick off their campaign against Brentford at 3:00 pm on Sunday, at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Bayern, meanwhile, face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup on Saturday, at the Allianz Arena with Thomas Tuchel in his first season start with the Bundesliga champions. The arrival of Kane would significantly strengthen Bayern’s attack as they look to win a 12th straight Bundesliga crown.
