January 05, (THEWILL) – On Wednesday, Tottenham secured a convincing 4-0 win against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the English Premier League.
Harry Kane scored twice, bringing his total number of goals for the club to 264 as he continues to chase Jimmy Greaves’ all-time club record of 266. Matt Doherty and Son Heung-min also scored for Spurs, with Son netting his first Premier League goal since September.
The win came after a slow start from Tottenham, with Palace putting pressure on the visitors in the first half. However, Tottenham came out strong in the second half, scoring two quick goals and maintaining their momentum for the remainder of the match to finish 4-0.
Despite the disadvantage of being behind by that many goals, Crystal Palace continued to fight until the final whistle, with Jordan Ayew coming close to scoring for the home side.
Antonio Conte’s team will be put to the ultimate test in their upcoming League match, the north London derby against league leaders Arsenal. Before then, they face Portsmouth on Saturday in the FA Cup while Palace go against Southampton.
