January 12, (THEWILL) – Juventus booked their place in the Coppa Italia semi-finals with a dominant 4-0 victory over Frosinone on Thursday evening. Massimiliano Allegri marked his 400th match as Bianconeri manager by leading his side to a comfortable win.
The breakthrough came after just 11 minutes when Fabio Miretti was brought down in the area, allowing Arkadiusz Milik to slot home the resulting penalty. Juventus continued to threaten, with Miretti and Filip Kostic both going close. Their pressure told again shortly before half-time as Milik added his second, sweeping home after a flowing counter-attack.
Milik completed his hat-trick shortly after the interval, pouncing on a defensive mix-up to tap into an empty net. The Polish striker thought he had a fourth after the hour mark, but it was ruled out for offside after a VAR review. However, 18-year-old talent, Kenan Yildiz, did add a fourth with an acrobatic volley from Weston McKennie’s pinpoint cross.
Frosinone offered little in response as Juventus cruised through the second half, barely having to break a sweat. The win books an intriguing last-four clash with Lazio while ending Frosinone’s cup run in emphatic fashion.
