Juve Close Gap With Napoli To Four Points After 1-Nil Victory Over Udinese

GTBCO FOOD DRINL

January 07, (THEWILL) – Juventus secured a late victory against Udinese at the Allianz Stadium, keeping their Scudetto hopes alive with a 1-0 win.

Juventus had a chance for the opener from a corner kick, with Daniele Rugani heading the ball on target, but Marco Silvestri, the Udinese goalkeeper, denied him a goal. In the 37th minute, Juventus’ Moise Kean had a chance to score but Silvestri saved his shot.

Udinese had opportunities on the counter-attack, but the final ball was not accurate. However, the introduction of Federico Chiesa gave Juventus another attacking option, and in the 86th minute, Chiesa passed the ball across the goal and Danilo scored to give Juventus the win.

This is Juventus’ eighth straight victory in Serie A and the second time in four days that they have won 1-0 thanks to a goal in the dying minutes. They continued fighting until the final whistle, with late goals also being scored in their previous matches against Cremonese, Lazio, and Inter.

Juve have the opportunity to move within one point of Napoli in the Serie A standings if they win their game against Napoli on Friday. Udinese, on the other hand, are slipping further away from the top seven and are now mid-table. They meet Bologna next.
