Juve Announce Decision To Appeal 15-Point Deduction

January 21, (THEWILL) – Juventus Football Club has announced its intention to appeal against a 15-point deduction imposed by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC).

The punishment was handed down on Friday, following an investigation into the club’s past transfer dealings. The FIGC also banned former president, Andrea Agnelli and former chief executive, Maurizio Arrivabene, from Italian football for two years and former sporting director, Fabio Paratici, who is now at Tottenham, was given a 30-month ban.

Juventus has always denied any wrongdoing and hopes the sanctions will be overturned on appeal. A statement by the club’s lawyers read, “we believe that this is a clear injustice also towards millions of fans.”
