August 20, (THEWILL) — Marcus Rashford has responded to Jamie Carragher after the former Liverpool defender made a blunt comment about the Manchester United forward during a preview of the new season of Stick to Football.
Carragher’s remarks came after Gary Neville raised Rashford’s name while discussing the Manchester United star’s return to Old Trafford.
The former Liverpool defender appeared frustrated that Rashford continues to be a regular topic of conversation on the podcast.
“Can we do a podcast without mentioning Marcus Rashford?” Carragher said before adding that Rashford had almost become a permanent subject of discussion on the programme.
Neville attempted to continue the conversation by pointing out that Rashford had returned to Manchester United, but Carragher replied:
“So what? He’s just a good player for Man Utd.”
The exchange might have ended there, but Rashford himself decided to respond.

Rashford Responds to Carragher
The Manchester United forward quote-tweeted a clip of the conversation and delivered a short but revealing response.
“Thanks, Jamie. It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day,” Rashford wrote.
His response quickly attracted attention from supporters, with many interpreting it as a sign that the forward is frustrated by the constant speculation and commentary surrounding his career.
