January 30,(THEWILL) – The NBA referees have admitted to a crucial mistake during Saturday’s game between the Lakers and Celtics.

With four seconds remaining and the game tied at 105, LeBron James attempted a layup but was hit by Jayson Tatum, causing him to miss the point-blank shot. Despite the clear contact, no foul was called, leaving James in disbelief and frustrated.

Referee Scott Lewis stated in a post-game report that the referee crew had missed the foul and the contact from Tatum on James’ layup attempt. This no-call has been referred to as a “gut-wrenching” mistake by the officials.

LeBron James’ frustration with the way he’s being officiated this season has been growing in recent weeks, and this no-call was the tipping point for the Lakers star. He expressed his anger on the court, stomping around and gesturing with his arm.

James’ display of emotion was uncharacteristic, and he was eventually seen crumpled on the floor, struggling to contain his anger.
