September 29, (THEWILL) – Isa Youth Global Link Initiative, a community-based civil society organisation in Sokoto, has applauded the exemplary leadership of the Senator representing Sokoto East Senatorial District, Ibrahim Lamido.
The group said Lamido’s impactful initiatives have transformed the region, particularly in terms of security and education.
According to the group, the Senator has not only enhanced security in the region, which has been disturbed by serious insecurity challenges but has provided a more enabling environment for farmers to engage in their farming activities without fear.
The Secretary of the initiative, Abdulrahman Umar Mai Salati, said as a civil society organisation, they are satisfied with Senator Lamido’s level of commitment and patriotism in discharging his responsibilities as their representative in the National Assembly.
Mai Salati added that the Senator has been all and doing in ensuring that the overwhelming issue of insecurity has been managed to the barest minimum.
“Apart from security challenges that are affecting our region, everybody knows that the eastern part of Sokoto is left behind when it comes to education, but Senator Lamido is changing the narrative,” he said.
He said recognising the east zone’s educational disparities, Senator Lamido has invested heavily in scholarships and grants.
“He awarded university students N50,000 each, while he also secured scholarships for students from the zone to study abroad. In addition to sourcing job opportunities to the teaming youth of the region,” Mai Salati said.
The Secretary also applauded the Senator for empowering over 1,000 women in his constituency with the sum of N250,000 each for business support, adding that the empowerment initiative has economically enabled women to contribute to the region’s growth and development.
Mai Salati added that though the group has no personal connection with the Senator, the members are impressed with the positive impact of his administration.
