December 26, (THEWILL) – The CEO, Jobiko Skypoint Business Concept, Pastor Joel Obikoru, has identified the dearth of integrity among professionals, as one of the challenges hindering the growth of the housing industry.

He said for the industry to grow, players in the sector must believe in professionalism and environmental sustainability, which he said, informed why he chose communities where nature and environment are critical elements for property development. He stated that his firm chose to come into the industry to correct the negative impression stakeholders have about some providers of housing solutions.

Pastor Obikoru spoke at an interactive session between a group of consultants, vendors and prospective buyers, organised by Jobiko Skypoint Business Concept, to flag off the marketing of the different housing products. According to him, a home helps families find better health, financial freedom, independence, stability, and security that otherwise would have remained an illusion. Little wonder the United Nations made providing people with access to decent and affordable housing one of the targets under Sustainable Development Goal 11.

“Integrity is lacking and people sell lands, they don’t develop the estates. There is a difference between selling land and developing an estate. So Jobiko Skypoint came to correct a lot of negative impressions in the industry. And what we have decided to do is that anywhere we call an estate, we must surely give it what an estate deserves. We came here and we saw bush, we decided to start the project by sand-filling the road. Our motivation is to make people have full relaxation and that tranquillity people are looking for, serenity and not just a house,” he said.

Part of the facilities visited by the group include Treasure Court Phase 1-IV, Igbodu Epe, Diadem Grove Estate, Poka Epe, and Jubilee Garden Estate in Epe.

Despite efforts made by successive administrations to tackle the issue of housing availability, many Nigerians are yet to have roofs over their heads.

Pastor Obikoru lamented that no matter the thousands of homes provided, it will never be enough because there are a lot of homeless people and the quest for property is high all over the world. He advised that the best place to put one’s money is property and not crypto.

“I have done crypto before and it is technology. You can’t monitor your money. But, when you buy land, you don’t feed it and it keeps appreciating. We will keep on providing quality homes and quality properties for Nigerians. I’m working with some major Lagos government officials to make sure we don’t have problems in getting our titles”, he added.

He said about the uniqueness of his products: “The kind of natural ambience that is lacking in other places is available here. Here you will enjoy the ecosystem; the air is not polluted, so that is one thing we want to deliver, not just building houses. We want to deliver a very therapeutic estate so that when you are living here, you will enjoy good health. This location is prime, the airport is about ten minutes from here, and we have the Dangote refinery close by the Free Trade Zone”, he noted.
